What is PageLayer?
PageLayer is an online website editor, some might call it a Web CMS.
It is different from traditional CMS in that it makes the actual website completely editable, without relying on complex forms or dedicated editing pages. It is a little bit like working on the MS Word document.
It is fast, simple, gives direct access to the content and shows instant results.
PageLayer Features
PageLayer is aiming at simplicity but yet reserve a lot of freedom through a set of basic functionalities:
- Create new pages, from scratch or from templates
- Create the document layout with basic building blocks
- Resize, move, style or copy blocks to shape the document
- Type text inside any block or just use them as layout elements
- Rich editing text capabilities: style the content as simply as in a word processor
- Upload and add pictures to the page
- Resize or crop pictures without quality loss
- Move stuff around to re-organize the document
- Use the history undo/redo feature if it went wrong
- Click on the save button, and it's live!
Successfully Deployed Websites With PageLayer
Version 0.4 is officially running two websites for a few weeks now. The new features included in this version make it the usable content editing solution PageLayer promised. Still in Beta, version 0.4 will turn 1.0 as soon as usability and features are approved byt current users.
